Therefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they struck him, and took away a great multitude of them captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with a great slaughter.

For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men, and the LORD delivered a very great army into their hand, because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Joash.

Let us go up against Judah, and trouble it, and let us make a breach in it for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:

Before your wickedness was uncovered, as at the time of your reproach from the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise you round about.

And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of plunderers that plundered them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.
