Then they brought out the king’s son, and put upon him the crown, and gave him the book of the law, and made him king. And Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and said, God save the king.

So I stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after he was fallen: and I took the crown that was on his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them here to my lord.

But Jehoshabeath, the daughter of the king, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king’s sons that were slain, and put him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of king Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest, (for she was the sister of Ahaziah,) hid him from Athaliah, so that she did not kill him.

And he set all the people, every man having his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the temple to the left side of the temple, along by the altar and the temple, by the king round about.

Now when Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of the LORD:

His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon he himself shall his crown flourish.

For you go before him with the blessings of goodness: you set a crown of pure gold on his head.

For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:

I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:

You have made void the covenant of your servant: you have profaned his crown by throwing it down to the ground.

And you shall put into the ark the testimony which I shall give you.

And you shall put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you.

And he gave to Moses, when he had made an end of speaking with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

And kings shall be your nursing fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers: they shall bow down to you with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.

Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried out, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every person.

Blessed is the man who endures temptation: for when he has been tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Listen, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those who love him?

His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written that no man knew but he himself.

The twenty four elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that lives for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

And round about the throne were twenty four seats: and upon the seats I saw twenty four elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.

And have made us kings and priests to our God: and we shall reign on the earth.

Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it on his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD has anointed you to be captain over his inheritance?

And Samuel said to all the people, See him whom the LORD has chosen, that there is none like him among all the people? And all the people shouted, and said, God save the king.
