If you put the brethren in remembrance of these things, you shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, which you have attained.
Your words were found, and I did eat them; and your word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by your name, O LORD God of hosts.
Then said he to them, Therefore every scribe who is instructed for the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is a head of a household, who brings forth out of his treasure things new and old.
I have shown you all things, how so laboring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
For this reason have I sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which are in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.
Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labors more abundant, in stripes beyond measure, in prisons more frequent, in danger of death often.
But that you also may know my affairs, and how I am doing, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make known to you all things:
And not holding to the Head, from which all the body by joints and ligaments having nourishment supplied, and knit together, increases with the increase of God.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And sent Timothy, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:
For whoremongers, for those who defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for oathbreakers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
If anyone teaches otherwise, and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
For the time will come when they will not endure sound teaching; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
Whoever transgresses, and does not continue in the doctrine of Christ, does not have God. He that continues in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son.
I intend therefore to put you in remembrance, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
