And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.

And patience, experience; and experience, hope:

Who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority.

And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he tore him as he would have torn a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done.

But David went and returned from Saul to feed his father’s sheep at Bethlehem.

And Saul said to David, You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for you are but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.

And I went out after him, and struck him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and struck him, and slew him.
