Saul chose for himself three thousand men of Israel; of which two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in mount Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.
And Saul stayed in the farthest part of Gibeah under a pomegranate tree which is in Migron: and the people that were with him were about six hundred men;
And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set up a place for himself, and has gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.
