But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from there is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)

Let them be ashamed and disappointed together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.

Then you spoke in vision to your holy one, and said, I have granted help to one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tested stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not be in haste.

Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and perplexed: they shall be as nothing; and those who strive with you shall perish.

Behold my servant, whom I uphold; my elect, in whom my soul delights; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not delay: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.

For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be disappointed: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

Fear not, for you shall not be ashamed; neither be perplexed, for you shall not be put to shame: for you shall forget the shame of your youth, and shall not remember the reproach of your widowhood any more.

But I will show you that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that contends with me in these things but Michael your prince.

Out of him came forth the cornerstone, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together.

Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall show judgment to the Gentiles.

And have you not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner:

And he looked at them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same has become the head of the corner?

And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.

He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

Men and fellow believers, this scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit by the mouth of David spoke beforehand concerning Judas, who guided those who took Jesus.

For the scripture says, Whoever believes in him shall not be ashamed.

According as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

To whom coming, as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God, and precious,

And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even to those who stumble at the word, being disobedient: to which also they were appointed.

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

As also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood which those who are unlearned and unstable twist, as they do also the other scriptures, to their own destruction.
