For what glory is it, if when you are beaten for your faults, you shall take it patiently? But if, when you do well, and suffer for it, you take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

For if you love those who love you, what virtue do you have? For sinners also love those who love them.

But it is always good to make a show of warmth in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you.

But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, a fragrance of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.

For this is pleasing, if a man for the sake of conscience before God endures grief, suffering wrongfully.

But if you suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy are you: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

For it is better, if the will of God be so, that you suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
