Behold, I know your thoughts, and the plans which you wrongfully imagine against me.

All your commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me.

Let not those who are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me: neither let them wink with the eye that hate me for no reason.

But my enemies are vigorous, and they are strong: and those who hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head: those who would destroy me, being my enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I did not take away.

For if you love those who love you, what virtue do you have? For sinners also love those who love them.

But all these things will they do to you for my name’s sake, because they do not know him who sent me.

Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cling the Lord.

Therefore you must be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.

But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conduct in the world, and more abundantly towards you.

Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;

For which reason I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to him until that day.

For then would they not have ceased to be offered? Because the worshipers once cleansed would have had no more consciousness of sins.

For what glory is it, if when you are beaten for your faults, you shall take it patiently? But if, when you do well, and suffer for it, you take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s affairs.
