And on the borders that were between the ledges were lions, oxen, and cherubims: and upon the ledges there was a base above: and beneath the lions and oxen were certain additions made of thin work.
So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.
It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their rear parts were inward.
And every base had four brass wheels, and plates of brass: and the four corners thereof had supports: under the laver were molten supports, at the side of every addition.
As for the likeness of their faces, they had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they had the face of an ox on the left side; they also had the face of an eagle.
And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.
For I will be to Ephraim like a lion, and like a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.
You also, as living stones, are built up into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
And one of the elders said to me, Do not weep: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
