And Ahab came into his house gloomy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid himself down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.

Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit.

But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry.

Then said the LORD, Do you do well to be angry?

And it came to pass, when the sun rose, that God prepared a furious east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, so that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.

And God said to Jonah, Do you do well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even to death.

Neither give place to the devil.

But each person is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed.

But he refused, and said, I will not eat. But his servants, together with the woman, compelled him; and he listened to their voice. So he arose from the earth, and sat upon the bed.
