You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.

I made for myself gardens and orchards, and I planted trees in them of all kinds of fruits:

A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon.

But your eyes and your heart are only for your covetousness, and to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.

And he said to them, Be careful, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things which he possesses.

For the land, to which you go in to possess it, is not like the land of Egypt, from which you came out, where you sowed your seed, and watered it with your foot, like a garden of vegetables:

Neither shall you desire your neighbor’s wife, neither shall you covet your neighbor’s house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

Then Achish called David, and said to him, Surely, as the LORD lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight: for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me until this day: nevertheless the lords do not favor you.

And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants.

But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed to the LORD.
