Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Ben-hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

So Ben-hadad heard and consented to king Asa, and sent the captains of the armies which he had against the cities of Israel, and struck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

And he bought the hill Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver, and built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer, owner of the hill, Samaria.

And they went out at noon. But Ben-hadad was drinking himself drunk in the pavilions, he and the kings, the thirty two kings that helped him.

And he sent messengers to Ahab king of Israel into the city, and said to him, Thus says Ben-hadad,

And do this thing, Take the kings away, every man out of his place, and put captains in their place:

But the king of Syria commanded his thirty two captains that had rule over his chariots, saying, Fight neither with small nor great, but only with the king of Israel.

Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.

And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried out to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.

And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when you are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.

When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses, and chariots, and a people more than you, be not afraid of them: for the LORD your God is with you, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

And he shall besiege you in all your gates, until your high and fortified walls come down, in which you trusted, throughout all your land: and he shall besiege you in all your gates throughout all your land, which the LORD your God has given you.

And Adonibezek said, Seventy kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their food under my table: as I have done, so God has repaid me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

And the children of Israel cried out to the LORD: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.

And the Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the sea shore in multitude: and they came up, and pitched in Michmash, eastward from Beth-aven.
