Does it seem a small thing to you to have eaten up the good pasture, but you must tread down with your feet the rest of your pastures? and to have drunk of the deep waters, but you must foul the rest with your feet?

Then he said to me, Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.

Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and saw the people that were therein, how they dwelt without fear, after the manner of the Sidonians, quiet and secure; and there was no magistrate in the land, that might put them to shame in anything; and they were far from the Sidonians, and had no business with any man.

And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim:

And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgot the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves.
