These things have I written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe in the name of the Son of God.
He that believes in him is not condemned: but he that does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears my word, and believes in him who sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but has passed from death to life.
And his name through faith in his name has made this man strong, whom you see and know: yea, the faith which is through him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
For we know that if our earthly house in this dwelling place is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
By Silvanus, a faithful brother to you, as I consider him, I have written briefly, encouraging, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.
My little children, these things I write to you so that you do not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
He that believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself: he that does not believe God has made him a liar; because he does not believe the record that God gave of his Son.
And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we may know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
