Who goes to warfare at any time at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard, and does not eat of its fruit? Or who feeds a flock, and does not eat of the milk of the flock?

He who keeps the fig tree shall eat the fruit of it: so he that waits on his master shall be honored.

And you shall have goats’ milk enough for your food, for the food of your household, and for the support of your maidens.

My vineyard, which is mine, is before me: you, O Solomon, must have a thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred.

And it shall come to pass, because of the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.

Be careful therefore of yourselves, and of all the flock, over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which the Lord has purchased with his own blood.

They shall have like portions to eat, besides that which comes of the sale of his inheritance.

And what man is he that has planted a vineyard, and has not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return to his house, so that he does not die in the battle, and another man eat of it.

This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which came beforehand concerning you, that you by them might wage a good warfare;

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you are also called, and have professed a good profession before many witnesses.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by compulsion, but willingly; not for unjust gain, but eagerly;
