Who goes to warfare at any time at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard, and does not eat of its fruit? Or who feeds a flock, and does not eat of the milk of the flock?
And it shall come to pass, because of the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.
Be careful therefore of yourselves, and of all the flock, over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which the Lord has purchased with his own blood.
And what man is he that has planted a vineyard, and has not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return to his house, so that he does not die in the battle, and another man eat of it.
This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which came beforehand concerning you, that you by them might wage a good warfare;
