What is my reward then? Truly that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without expense, so that I do not abuse my power in the gospel.

For you remember, brethren, our labor and travail: for laboring night and day, because we would not be an expense to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.

Neither did we eat anyone’s bread for nothing; but worked with labor and toil night and day, that we might not be an expense to any of you:
