Thus says the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother’s divorce, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have you sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.

They say, If a man puts away his wife, and she goes from him and becomes another man’s, shall he return to her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but you have played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, says the LORD.

But I say to you, That whoever shall put away his wife, except for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery: and whoever shall marry her who is divorced commits adultery.

And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she commits adultery.

And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? testing him.

Whoever puts away his wife, and marries another, commits adultery: and whoever marries her that is put away from her husband commits adultery.

And to the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, The wife should not leave her husband:

But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is pleased to dwell with him, he should not put her away.

And they shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver, and give them to the father of the damsel, because he has brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.
