I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? No, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names altogether was about a hundred and twenty,)
Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem:
Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a shame to him?
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are honorable, but we are despised.
I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.
Do any of you dare, having a matter against another, to go to court before the unjust, and not before the saints?
If then you have to make decisions about things concerning this life, appoint those to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously, and does not criticize; and it shall be given him.
