For you have taken a pledge from your brother for nothing, and stripped the naked of their clothing.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Do we not have the right to eat and to drink?

For you allow it, if a man brings you into bondage, if a man devours you, if a man takes from you, if a man exalts himself, if a man strikes you on the face.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both how to be full and how to be hungry, both how to abound and how to suffer need.

Persecutions, afflictions, which came to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
