After that, he was seen by more than five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep.
Then said Jesus to them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren to go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you into Galilee: there shall you see him, as he said to you.
For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, and was laid with his fathers, and saw corruption:
And he knelt down, and cried out with a loud voice, Lord, do not let this sin stand against them. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and has become the first fruits of those who slept.
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, so that you do not sorrow, even as others who have no hope.
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not precede those who are asleep.
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
