I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

I will declare the decree: the LORD has said to me, You are my Son; this day have I begotten you.

After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

Now the LORD had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

From that time on Jesus began to show his disciples how he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

For he taught his disciples, and said to them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after he is killed, he shall rise the third day.

Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

And said to them, Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.

And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, pleaded with Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.

To whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen by them forty days, and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God:

Because he has appointed a day, in which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he has appointed; of which he has given assurance to all men, in that he has raised him from the dead.

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Buried with him in baptism, in which also you are risen with him through the faith of the working of God, who has raised him from the dead.

Now may the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand of the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that would follow.
