And these signs shall follow those who believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things with which one may build another up.

To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

And God has set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, various kinds of tongues.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I have become like a loud brass instrument, or a clanging cymbal.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.

Even so you, to the extent that you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek to excel in edifying the church.

Therefore tongues are a sign, not to those who believe, but to those who do not believe: but prophesying is not intended for those who do not believe, but for those who believe.

How is it then, brethren? When you come together, every one of you has a hymn, a teaching, a tongue, a revelation, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for edifying.

But he who prophesies speaks to men for edification, and encouragement, and comfort.

I would like you all to speak with tongues, but even more to prophesy: for greater is he that prophesies than he that speaks with tongues, unless he interprets, that the church may receive edifying.
