To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
And God has set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, various kinds of tongues.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.
Therefore tongues are a sign, not to those who believe, but to those who do not believe: but prophesying is not intended for those who do not believe, but for those who believe.
How is it then, brethren? When you come together, every one of you has a hymn, a teaching, a tongue, a revelation, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for edifying.
I would like you all to speak with tongues, but even more to prophesy: for greater is he that prophesies than he that speaks with tongues, unless he interprets, that the church may receive edifying.
