Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.

Depart and go in to king David, and say to him, Did not you, my lord, O king, swear to your handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then does Adonijah reign?

And he said, You know that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign: however the kingdom is turned around, and has become my brother’s: for it was his from the LORD.

And now, O LORD my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.

Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry.

For he had dominion over all the region on this side of the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side of the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him.

And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, all the days of Solomon.

But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil currently.

Blessed be the LORD, that has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there has not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

And it shall come to pass, when your days be expired and you must go to be with your fathers, that I will raise up your offspring after you, which shall be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom.

Is not the LORD your God with you? and has he not given you rest on every side? for he has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.

You who have kept with your servant David my father that which you have promised him; and spoken with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is this day.

When he gives quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hides his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:

​Give the king your judgments, O God, and your righteousness to the king’s son.

In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endures.

LORD, you will ordain peace for us: for you also have performed all our works in us.

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create adversity: I the LORD do all these things.

I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, says the LORD; and I will heal him.

For thus says the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall you suck, you shall be carried upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

The glory of this latter house shall be greater than that of the former, says the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, says the LORD of hosts.

Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovah shalom: to this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abi-ezrites.
