Either three years’ famine; or three months to be destroyed before your foes, while the sword of your enemies overtakes you; or else three days the sword of the LORD, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the territory of Israel. Now therefore consider what word I shall bring back to him that sent me.

Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David inquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and struck down in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred eighty five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

Then spoke Elisha to the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go, you and your household, and sojourn wherever you can sojourn: for the LORD has called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.

So Gad came to David, and said to him, Thus says the LORD, You choose:

Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday.

For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not permit the destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you.

For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.

The destroyers have come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.

Then it shall come to pass, that the sword, which you feared, shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine, of which you were afraid, shall follow close after you there in Egypt; and there you shall die.

O you sword of the LORD, how long will it be before you are quiet? put yourself up into your sheath, rest, and be still.

Those who are slain with the sword are better than those who are slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.

And you shall eat old store, and bring out the old because of the new.

And I will set my face against you, and you shall be slain before your enemies: those who hate you shall reign over you; and you shall flee when none pursues you.

But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;

And immediately the angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give God the glory: and he was eaten by worms, and gave up the ghost.

But it shall come to pass, if you will not listen to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you this day; that all these curses shall come upon you, and overtake you:

The LORD shall strike you with a wasting disease, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blight, and with mildew; and they shall pursue you until you perish.

The LORD shall cause you to be struck down before your enemies: you shall go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shall be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

The LORD will strike you with the boil of Egypt, and with the tumor, and with the scab, and with the itch, of which you cannot be healed.

The LORD shall strike you in the knees, and in the legs, with a hurtful boil that cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot to the top of your head.
