And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even sixty cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.
The son of Geber, in Ramoth-gilead; his responsibility was the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; he was also assigned the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, sixty great cities with walls and brass bars:
Jair the son of Manasseh took all the country of Argob to the borders of Geshuri and Maachathi; and called them after his own name, Bashan-havoth-jair, until this day.
Nevertheless the children of Israel did not expel the Geshurites, nor the Maachathites: but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day.
