And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father: for Hiram was always a lover of David.
Now therefore command that they cut me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with your servants: and to you will I give wages for your servants according to all that you shall appoint: for you know that there is not among us any that has skill to cut timber like the Sidonians.
Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in a house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remains under curtains.

They gave money also to the masons, and to the carpenters; and food, and drink, and oil, to those of Sidon, and to those of Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Joppa, according to the permission that they had from Cyrus king of Persia.
