O God, do not remain at rest; Do not be silent and, O God, do not be quiet.
To You, O Yahweh, I call; My rock, do not be silent to me, Lest if You are hesitant toward me, I will become like those who go down to the pit.
¶You have seen it, O Yahweh, do not keep silent; O Lord, do not be far from me.
Arouse Yourself, why do You sleep, O Lord? Awake, do not reject us forever.
The Mighty One, God, Yahweh, has spoken, And called the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.
May our God come and not be silent; Fire devours before Him, And a storm whirls around Him.
¶“I have kept silent for a long time; I have kept still and restrained Myself. Now like a woman in labor I will groan; I will both gasp and pant.
