Why, O God? Have You rejected us forever? Why does Your anger smoke against the sheep of Your pasture?

And I will abandon the remnant of My inheritance and give them into the hand of their enemies, and they will become as plunder and spoil to all their enemies;

Why do You stand afar off, O Yahweh? Why do You hide Yourself in times of distress?

Know that Yahweh, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Smoke went up out of His nostrils, And fire from His mouth devoured; Coals were kindled by it.

Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Wait for God, for I shall still praise Him, The salvation of my presence and my God.

¶I say to God my rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”

¶Yet You have rejected us and brought us to dishonor, And do not go out with our armies.

The Mighty One, God, Yahweh, has spoken, And called the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.

O God, You have rejected us. You have broken us; You have been angry; Oh, restore us.

Have You Yourself, O God, not rejected us? And will You, O God, not go forth with our armies?

¶Will the Lord reject evermore? And will He not be favorable again?

Has His lovingkindness ceased forever? Has His word ended from generation to generation?

Give ear, O my people, to my instruction; Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

But as for us, as Your people and the sheep of Your pasture, We will give thanks to You forever; From generation to generation we will recount Your praise.

How long, O Yahweh? Will You be angry forever? Will Your jealousy burn like fire?

You have fed them with the bread of tears, And You have made them to drink tears in large measure.

Will You not Yourself return to revive us, That Your people may be glad in You?

For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you hear His voice,

Then Moses entreated the favor of Yahweh his God and said, “O Yahweh, why does Your anger burn against Your people whom You have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a strong hand?

¶But now, O Yahweh, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all of us are the work of Your hand.

“Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of My pasture!” declares Yahweh.

Thus says Yahweh, “If the heavens above can be measured And the foundations of the earth searched out below, Then I will also reject all the seed of Israel For all that they have done,” declares Yahweh.

Even if You have utterly rejected us And are exceedingly angry with us.

“As for you, My sheep, the sheep of My pasture, you are men, and I am your God,” declares Lord Yahweh.

“As I live,” declares Lord Yahweh, “surely because My flock has become plunder, My flock has even become food for all the beasts of the field for lack of a shepherd, and My shepherds did not seek for My flock, but rather the shepherds shepherded themselves and did not shepherd My flock;

Do not fear, little flock, for your Father is well pleased to give you the kingdom.

Yahweh shall not be willing to pardon him, but rather the anger of Yahweh and His jealousy will burn against that man, and every curse which is written in this book will rest on him, and Yahweh will blot out his name from under heaven.
