Thus says the king, ‘Do not let Hezekiah deceive you, for he will not be able to deliver you from his hand;

In his lofty pride the wicked hotly pursues the afflicted; Let them be caught in the thoughts which they have devised.

They have closed their unfeeling heart, With their mouth they speak proudly.

And you have magnified yourselves with your mouth against Me and have multiplied your words against Me; I have heard it.”

They turn, but not upward; They are like a deceitful bow; Their princes will fall by the sword Because of the indignation of their tongue. This will be their scoffing in the land of Egypt.

and especially those who go after the flesh in its corrupt lust and despise authority. Daring, self-willed, they do not tremble when they blaspheme glorious ones,

For speaking out arrogant words of vanity, they entice by sensual lusts of the flesh, those who barely escape from the ones who conducted themselves in error,

These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; and their mouth speaks arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of their own benefit.

Now no blacksmith could be found in all the land of Israel, for the Philistines said, “Lest the Hebrews make swords or spears.”
