Salvation is far from the wicked, For they do not seek Your statutes.
“His sons are far from salvation, They are even crushed in the gate, And there is no deliverer.
The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him. All his thoughts are, “There is no God.”
For You save an afflicted people, But eyes which are lifted up, You bring down.
¶The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge; Ignorant fools despise wisdom and discipline.
¶“Hear Me, you stubborn of heart, Who are far from righteousness.
Creating the praise of the lips. Peace, peace to him who is far and to him who is near,” Says Yahweh, “and I will heal him.”
All of us growl like bears, And moan sadly like doves; We hope for justice, but there is none, For salvation, but it is far from us.
