For, behold, the wicked bend the bow, They make ready their arrow upon the string To shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.

In his lofty pride the wicked hotly pursues the afflicted; Let them be caught in the thoughts which they have devised.

¶Do good, O Yahweh, to those who are good And to those who are upright in their hearts.

When my spirit was faint within me, You knew my path. In the way where I walk They have hidden a trap for me.

For You will make them turn their back; You will aim with Your bowstrings at their faces.

Be glad in Yahweh and rejoice, you righteous ones; And shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.

The wicked have drawn the sword and bent their bow To cast down the afflicted and the needy, To slay those who are upright in conduct.

The righteous man will be glad in Yahweh and will take refuge in Him; And all the upright in heart will boast.

My shield is with God, Who saves the upright in heart.

¶If a man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword; He has bent His bow and prepared it.

For judgment will again be righteous, And all the upright in heart will follow it.

Light is sown for the righteous And gladness for the upright in heart.

“They bend their tongue like their bow; Lies and unfaithfulness prevail in the land, For they go onward from evil to evil, And they do not know Me,” declares Yahweh.

and they plotted together to seize Jesus by stealth and kill Him.
