For the lips of a strange woman drip honey And smoother than oil is her speech;

His speech was smoother than butter, But his heart was war; His words were softer than oil, Yet they were drawn swords.

To deliver you from the strange woman, From the foreign woman who flatters with her words;

The mouth of strange women is a deep pit; He who is cursed of Yahweh will fall into it.

So why should you, my son, be intoxicated with a strange woman And embrace the bosom of a foreign woman?

To keep you from the evil woman, From the smooth tongue of the foreign woman.

With her abundant persuasions she entices him; With her flattering lips she drives him to herself.

In order to keep you from the strange woman, From the foreign woman who flatters with her words.

And I found more bitter than death the woman whose heart is snares and nets, whose hands are chains. One who is good before God will escape from her, but the sinner will be captured by her.

“Your lips, my bride, drip honey from the comb; Honey and milk are under your tongue, And the fragrance of your garments is like the fragrance of Lebanon.
