For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous will live by faith.”

for with the heart a person believes, leading to righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, leading to salvation.

as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to the righteousness which is in the Law, found blameless.

who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,

He saved us, not by works which we did in righteousness, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us.

For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the entire body as well.

Everyone who does sin also does lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
