And who eat the flesh of my people, Strip off their skin from them, Break their bones, And spread them out as for the pot And as meat in a caldron.”

¶Do all the workers of iniquity not know, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call upon Yahweh?

When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell.

There is a generation whose teeth are like swords And its fangs like knives, To devour the afflicted from the earth And the needy from among men.

Yahweh enters into judgment with the elders of His people and His princes, “It is you who have consumed the vineyard; The plunder robbed of the afflicted is in your houses.

“What do you mean by crushing My people And grinding the face of the afflicted?” Declares Lord Yahweh of hosts.

who say, ‘The time is not near to build houses. This city is the pot, and we are the flesh.’

Put in it the pieces, Every good piece, the thigh and the shoulder; Fill it with choice bones.

Hear this, you who trample the needy, even to cause the humble of the land to cease,

“And recently My people have arisen as an enemy— You strip the robe off the garment From unsuspecting passers-by, From those returned from war.

Her princes in her midst are roaring lions; Her judges are wolves at evening; They leave nothing to gnaw for the morning.
