You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.

“I walk in the path of righteousness, In the midst of the pathways of justice,

And your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.

And a roadway will be there, a highway, And it will be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean will not pass by on it, But it will be for him who walks in that way, And ignorant fools will not wander on it.

¶And it will be said, “Build up, build up, prepare the way, Remove every stumbling block out of the way of My people.”

Thus says Yahweh, “Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’

So the last shall be first, and the first last.”

For many are called, but few are chosen.”

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.

“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.

Do not fear, little flock, for your Father is well pleased to give you the kingdom.

They will put you out of the synagogue, but an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering service to God.

These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, “Through many afflictions we must enter the kingdom of God.”

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may approve what the will of God is, that which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone,
