¶Make vows to Yahweh your God and pay them; Let all who are around Him bring gifts to the Fearsome One.

¶“You shall not take the name of Yahweh your God in vain, for Yahweh will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.

And you shall not swear falsely by My name, so as to profane the name of your God; I am Yahweh.

¶Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who proclaims good news, Who announces peace! Celebrate your feasts, O Judah; Pay your vows. For never again will the vile one pass through you; He is cut off completely.

“You have heard that the ancients were told, ‘You shall not murder’ and ‘Whoever murders shall be guilty before the court.’

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’;

“When you make a vow to Yahweh your God, you shall not delay to pay it, for Yahweh your God will surely require it of you; and it will be a sin in you.

You shall be careful and do what goes out from your lips, just as you have voluntarily vowed to Yahweh your God that which you spoke with your mouth.

¶‘You shall not take the name of Yahweh your God in vain, for Yahweh will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.

Yahweh your God you shall fear; and Him you shall serve; and by His name you shall swear.

for sexually immoral persons, for homosexuals, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching,
