Now while Ezra was praying and making confession, weeping and prostrating himself before the house of God, a very large assembly, men, women, and children, gathered to him from Israel; for the people wept bitterly.

And all the region of Judea was going out to him, and all the people of Jerusalem; and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.

And he will turn many of the sons of Israel back to the Lord their God.

John answered, saying to them all, “As for me, I baptize you with water, but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the strap of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

Also, many of those who had believed kept coming, confessing and disclosing their practices.

Now why do you delay? Rise up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.’

since they relate only to food and drink and various washings, requirements for the body imposed until a time of reformation.

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

Then Joshua said to Achan, “My son, I implore you, give glory to Yahweh, the God of Israel, and give praise to Him; and declare to me now what you have done. Do not hide it from me.”

Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal of a good conscience to God—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
