For the days will come upon you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side,

“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is at hand.

If we let Him go on like this, all will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”

crying out, “Men of Israel, help! This is the man who teaches to everyone everywhere against our people and the Law and this place; and besides, he has even brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place.”

And they put forward false witnesses who said, “This man never ceases speaking words against this holy place and the Law;

For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away.

Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy and keep the things which are written in it, for the time is near.

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ ”
