And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus *was passing by, cried out, saying, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

¶Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind; Yahweh raises up those who are bowed down; Yahweh loves the righteous;

On that day the deaf will hear words of a book, And out of darkness and thick darkness the eyes of the blind will see.

“I will lead the blind by a way they do not know, In paths they do not know I will guide them. I will make darkness into light before them And rugged places into plains. These are the things I will do, And I will not forsake them.”

¶Hear, you deaf! And look, you blind, that you may see.

We grope along the wall like blind men; We grope like those who have no eyes; We stumble at midday as in the twilight, Among those who are vigorous we are like dead men.

and as he sowed, some seeds fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate them up.

And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and began to cry out, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is cruelly demon-possessed.”

But the crowd sternly told them to be quiet, but they cried out all the more, saying, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.

And the crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were crying out, saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David; Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest!”

saying, “What do you think about the Christ, whose son is He?” They *said to Him, “The son of David.”

Then they *came to Jericho. And as He was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed,

At that very time He cured many people of diseases and afflictions and evil spirits, and He granted sight to many who were blind.

And so, because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to set one of the fruit of his body on his throne,
