He spoke another parable to them, “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three sata of flour until it was all leavened.”

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet cast into the sea, and gathering fish of every kind;

Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius for the day, he sent them into his vineyard.

“But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go work today in the vineyard.’

“The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son.

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you did not want it.

“Then the kingdom of heaven may be compared to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

“For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves and handed over his possessions to them.

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

It is like a man away on a journey, who, leaving his house and giving authority to his slaves—each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay awake.

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vine-grower.

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

equip you in every good thing to do His will, by doing in us what is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
