It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble.

But Jesus, knowing in Himself that His disciples were grumbling at this, said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble?

It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother stumbles.

Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will never eat meat again—ever, so that I will not cause my brother to stumble.

But see to it that this authority of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.

giving no cause for offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited,

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though being rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.

Listen, my beloved brothers: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?
