Now it happened in the course of those many days that the king of Egypt died. And the sons of Israel sighed because of the slavery, and they cried out; and their cry for help because of their slavery rose up to God.

He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

And moved with compassion, He stretched out His hand and touched him, and *said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is translated, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

And taking the child by the hand, He *said to her, “Talitha kum!” (which translated means, “Little girl, I say to you, arise!”).

And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up toward heaven, He blessed the food and broke the loaves. And He kept giving them to the disciples to set before them, and He divided up the two fish among them all.

And his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was removed, and he began speaking plainly.

And sighing deeply in His spirit, He *said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.”

And Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has saved you.”

And as He approached Jerusalem and saw the city, He cried over it,

And He came up and touched the coffin, and the bearers came to a halt. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise!”

When Jesus therefore saw her crying, and the Jews who came with her also crying, He was deeply moved in spirit and was troubled,

So Jesus, again being deeply moved within, *came to the tomb. Now it was a cave, and a stone was lying against it.

So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised His eyes, and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.

And when He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth.”

Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You,

And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Rise up and make your bed.” Immediately he rose up.

But Peter sent them all out and knelt down and prayed, and turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things like we are, yet without sin.
