Now it happened that when Abraham’s servant heard their words, he bowed himself to the ground before Yahweh.

And they said, “Your servant our father is well; he is still alive.” They bowed down and prostrated themselves.

Yet I will leave 7,000 in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal and every mouth that has not kissed him.”

“Will it be well when He examines you? Or will you deceive Him as one deceives a man?

Those who dwell at the gate moan about me, And I am the drunkards’ songs.

“I have sworn by Myself, The word has gone forth from My mouth in righteousness And will not turn back, That to Me every knee will bow, every tongue will swear allegiance.

Thus says Yahweh, the Redeemer of Israel and its Holy One, To the despised One, To the One abhorred by the nation, To the Servant of rulers, “Kings will see and arise, Princes will also bow down, Because of Yahweh who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen You.”

I gave My back to those who strike Me, And My cheeks to those who pluck out the beard; I did not hide My face from dishonor and spitting.

Just as many were appalled at you, My people, So His appearance was marred more than any man And His form more than the sons of men.

“Now muster yourselves in troops, daughter of troops; They have laid siege against us; With a rod they will strike the judge of Israel on the cheek.

And they spat on Him, and took the reed and began to beat Him on the head.

And they will mock Him and spit on Him, and flog Him and kill Him, and three days later He will rise again.”

And some began to spit at Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with their fists, and to say to Him, “Prophesy!” And the officers received Him with slaps in the face.

and they began to greet Him, “Hail, King of the Jews!”

And after they had mocked Him, they took the purple robe off Him and put His own garments on Him. And they *led Him out to crucify Him.

And He said to them, “Elijah does first come and restore all things. And yet how is it written of the Son of Man that He will suffer many things and be treated with contempt?

Now the men who were holding Jesus in custody were mocking Him while they beat Him,

And Herod with his soldiers, after treating Him with contempt and mocking Him, dressed Him in a bright robe and sent Him back to Pilate.

And the soldiers also mocked Him, coming up to Him, offering Him sour wine,

But what does the divine response say to him? “I have left for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”

so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

So, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.
