“His roots wrap around a rock pile; He looks upon a house of stones.

Scarcely have they been planted; Scarcely have they been sown; Scarcely has their stem taken root in the earth, But He merely blows on them, and they wither, And the storm carries them away like stubble.

“What more was there to do for My vineyard that I have not done in it? Why, when I hoped for it to produce good grapes did it produce worthless ones?

But when the sun had risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted.

Now in the morning, when He was returning to the city, He became hungry.

And on the next day, when they had left Bethany, He became hungry.

And He answered and said to it, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again!” And His disciples were listening.

If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.

but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is unfit and close to being cursed, and its end is to be burned.

These are the men who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted;
