Then the king answered and said to the man of God, “Please entreat Yahweh your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me.” So the man of God entreated Yahweh, and the king’s hand was restored to him, and it became as it was before.

If I have rewarded evil to him who is at peace with me, Or have plundered my adversary without cause,

¶When your enemy falls, do not be glad, And when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice;

¶It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

And He was saying to them, “Beware what you listen to. By your standard of measure it will be measured to you, and more will be given to you.

But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.

Blessed are you when men hate you, and exclude you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man.

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to the ungrateful and evil.

But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.

So beware how you listen, for whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him.”

And other seed fell into the good soil; and growing up, it produced a crop one hundred times as great.” As He said these things, He would call out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

But Paul cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here!”

Then falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” And having said this, he fell asleep.

So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people.

Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one who does good is of God; the one who does evil has not seen God.
