And it happened that one day He was teaching; and there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem, and the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing.

Then some Pharisees and scribes *came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said,

But he went out and began to proclaim it freely and to spread the news around, to such an extent that Jesus could no longer publicly enter a city, but stayed out in desolate areas; and they were coming to Him from everywhere.

and they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “He casts out the demons by the ruler of the demons.”

And immediately Jesus, perceiving in Himself that the power proceeding from Him had gone forth, turned around in the crowd and was saying, “Who touched My garments?”

And the Pharisees and some of the scribes *gathered around Him when they had come from Jerusalem,

And both the Pharisees and the scribes were grumbling, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.”

And it happened that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.

The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?”

And the Pharisees and their scribes began grumbling at His disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?”

And all the crowd was trying to touch Him, for power was coming from Him and healing them all.

But the Pharisees and the scholars of the Law rejected God’s purpose for themselves, not having been baptized by John.

But Jesus said, “Someone did touch Me, for I knew that power had gone out of Me.”

Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things?

But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been done by God.”

And God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul,

while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders happen through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”

But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the Law, respected by all the people, stood up in the Sanhedrin and gave orders to put the men outside for a short time.
