And Jesus answered and said to him, “It is said, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’ ”

But craved intensely in the wilderness, And put God to the test in the wasteland.

“When your fathers tried Me, They tested Me, though they had seen My work.

So now we call the arrogant blessed; not only are the doers of wickedness built up, but they also test God and escape.’ ”

Jesus said to him, “Again, it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’ ”

And when the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time.

Nor let us put Christ to the test, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the serpents.

“You shall not put Yahweh your God to the test, as you tested Him at Massah.
