And they said to one another, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was opening the Scriptures to us?”

Let my musing be pleasing to Him; As for me, I shall be glad in Yahweh.

My heart was hot within me, While I meditated the fire was burning; Then I spoke with my tongue:

Iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens another.

Oil and incense make the heart glad, So counsel from the soul is sweet to his friend.

¶Lord Yahweh has given Me the tongue of disciples, That I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning; He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.

Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your words became for me joy and gladness in my heart, For I have been called by Your name, O Yahweh God of hosts.

But if I say, “I will not remember Him Or speak anymore in His name,” Then in my heart it becomes like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; And I am weary of holding it in, And I cannot prevail.

“Is not My word like fire?” declares Yahweh, “and like a hammer which shatters a rock?

and He was not speaking to them without a parable; but He was explaining everything privately to His own disciples.

Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,

The Spirit is the One who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

And when they had set a day for Paul, they came to him at his lodging in large numbers; and he was explaining to them by solemnly bearing witness about the kingdom of God and trying to persuade them concerning Jesus, from both the Law of Moses and from the Prophets, from morning until evening.

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
