¶As for me, I said, “O Yahweh, be gracious to me; Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.”

“For My hand made all these things, Thus all these things came into being,” declares Yahweh. “But to this one I will look, To him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and who trembles at My word.

so that you may remember and be ashamed and never open your mouth anymore because of your dishonor, when I have atoned for you for all that you have done,” declares Lord Yahweh.

Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men, brothers, what should we do?”

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

For behold what earnestness this very thing—this godly sorrow—has brought about in you: what vindication of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what avenging of wrong! In everything you demonstrated yourselves to be innocent in the matter.

It is a trustworthy saying and deserving full acceptance: that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost.

Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

“For I will be merciful to their iniquities, And I will remember their sins no more.”
