For there are many words which increase vanity. What then is the advantage to a man?

but the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for anything else enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home.

But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the preparations alone? Then tell her to help me.”

And He said to His disciples, “For this reason I say to you, do not worry about your life, as to what you will eat; nor for your body, as to what you will put on.

“But be on guard, so that your hearts will not be overcome with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap;

And the seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of life, and do not bear ripe fruit.

Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.

Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

So they made Him a supper there, and Martha was serving; and Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with Him.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
